Not just of King adaptations but just films in general. “Stand By Me” is one of my all time favourite films. Nothing about any of the characters stood out and the story was just a bit “meh”. The first three, for me, are all big hitters I love the characters, I love the story and I love the themes behind them but “The Breathing Method” just didn’t really grab me the same way. I loved this collection, apart from “The Breathing Method”. This is also a case where I’ve seen the films, “Shawshank Redemption” and “Stand By Me” before reading the stories they are based on. I’ve had this for a while and I remember reading Shawshank but for some reason I didn’t read any of the others, which is very unusual for me. “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” is “Hope Springs Eternal”, “Apt Pupil” is “Summer of Corruption”, “The Body” is “Fall from Innocence” and finally “The Breathing Method” is “A Winter’s Tale”. “Different Seasons” is a collection of four short stories designed to represent the four seasons.
